The Centre Province (French Province du Centre) occupies 69,000 km² of the central plains of the Republic of Cameroon.
It is bordered to the north by the Adamawa Province, to the south by the South Province, to the east by the East Province, and to the West by the Littoral and West Provinces.
Most farmers in the Centre are largely concerned with the raising of crops such as plantains (common south of Yaoundé) and cocoyams and yams (common west and northwest of the capital).

 Anti-Retroviral Distribution Centres Launched
Yaounde, Cameroon - The Cameroonian government is providing public hospitals with 16 centres to distribute anti-retrovirals to people living with HIV/AIDS.
The centres, which would specialise in the care and treatment of HIV/AIDS patients, would screen sero-positive pregnant women with a view to curbing maternal transmission.
The centres would also be provided with the appropriate equipment for testing and confirming results, which would then be forwarded to the national AIDS eradication centre every three months for statistical purposes.

YAOUNDE - Cameroon's government has for the first time authorised five village communities in the East Province to manage their own forests, the Ministry of Environment and Forests said yesterday.
