Century series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Century series aircraft were a series of early US supersonic jet fighters built for the United States Air Force during the 1950s and early 1960s.
Unlike previous series aircraft these were all capable of sustained supersonic flight while level — no dive was necessary to exceed Mach 1.
Although numbered 100+, the F-111 Aardvark and F-117 Nighthawk do not properly belong to the Century Series, as neither is in the truest sense a fighter (and the latter was developed more than 20 years after the last Century Series aircraft).

ALCO Century Series locomotives - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
These were the 2000 hp (1.5 MW), 4-axle Century 420, the 2400 hp (1.8 MW), 4 axle Century 424 and the 2400 hp (1.8 MW), 6 axle Century 624.
The latter was never built; instead, the initial 6-axle unit was the Century 628 with 2750 hp (2 MW).
Later additions to the Century range included in the 4-axle range the Century 425 (uprated generator, otherwise as the Century 424), the 3000 hp (2.2 MW) Century 430 and a large switcher, the Century 415, which was rather unsuccessful.

 20th Century, The
The series' researchers, both literary and film, were instructed to pursue detailed factual information that would add the unknown to the familiar.
Accounting for the many battle-oriented programs, Benjamin admitted that the series was "as much a show biz show as any dramatic half-hour." But when the availability of dramatic and unusual footage of personalities existed for an historical period or event, such as "Paris in the Twenties" and "The Olympics," the unit produced broad-canvas compilation films.
Although evident in the compilation films, the series' anti-Communist ideology and commitment to democratic modernization was blatant in programs such as "Poland on a Tightrope" and "Sweden: Trouble in Paradise." Periodically, the producers sought new approaches to the contemporary documentary, in response to waning critical reception and audience desire for the dramatic.

 19th-Century Girls' Series
The first children's fiction series appeared in the United States in the 1830s, and by the 1860s the genre was well-established and earning both praise and censure.
This page draws upon some of that research; it is devoted to bio-bibliographies and commentary about nineteenth-century authors of series books for girls and younger children as well as samples of some of their writing.
A note on categories in the chart: "series bibliography" generally covers only titles for girls and younger children; in cases where a series for boys was a counterpart or somehow related to a girls' series, it is also included.

 A People's Century Video Series | Review | Barbara Truesdell | OAH Magazine of History | Volume 13, No 1 | Fall 1998
The series concludes with "Fast Forward," which examines the development of the global economy and the widening economic and cultural rifts dividing communities at the end of this century.
Overall, the narrative "road" that the series traces is an engrossing examination of the political and social events that much of the world experienced in common.
In a shorter series with the goal of representing the century around the world, this might be an unforgivable omission, but the breadth of subjects covered by People's Century in its twenty-six episodes gives the producers time to spread their attention among all the continents.

Classical Notes - EMI's Great Conductors of the 20th Century, Classical Classics, Peter Gutmann
Great Pianists of the 20th Century series demanded a successor, and logically this is it, since so many superstar performers of the last century were conductors who collectively shaped the course of classical music.
But in the mid-19th century, with Berlioz and especially Wagner, the conductor emerged as a full-fledged contributor to, and even sculptor of, the performance, often adding his own strong interpretive input to craft a subjective response that went well beyond the immediate demands of the score.
In the Westminster DG series are a deeply reverent Bach Mass in b minor and Mozart Requiem, a lush and pensive Vivaldi Water Music, a frantic Beethoven Eroica and breathless Pastorale, a vital set of Honegger, a finely-honed Petroushka and a scorching Mahler Fifth.
