 The lost prophet
But Ceredig felt hopeful, since Elffin was a good tracker, and he saw the change in the weather as a fortunate sign.
Now, Ceredig was frustrated over the failure of his quest, and he tossed and turned, coming awake from time to time and then finding a fitful sleep again.
Ceredig looked back with a mean smile, but before he could begin to express his feelings for Elffin’s trustworthiness, he saw a fist heading for his face at great speed.

National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales - News - Twin Town in the Drwm
Set amongst the Swansea dispossessed, in a town dubbed "the graveyard of ambition" by Dylan Thomas, Twin Town was hyped as the Welsh Trainspotting, a chaotic drug fuelled warts-n-all perspective on Welsh life.
They take revenge after their father (Fatty Lewis, played by Huw Ceredig) breaks his leg falling off a ladder doing a construction job for Cartwright, who refuses to offer any kind of compensation.
Fatty is the antithesis of the respected patriarch of so many Welsh and British films, prone to as many abusive outbursts as his foul-mouthed offspring - the drug dealing 'twins' and a prostitute daughter.

He fought bravely against the advancing Gaels and his father rewarded him with the most southern area of his new kingdom, bordering on Dyfed, possibly including part of the Cantref Gwaelod.
The region became so associated with Ceredig that the people named it Ceredigion after him.

 The trap
Ceredig stared at him, then collapsed in helpless laughter while trying to picture Elffin in a pink dress, protecting his virtue with a big sword.
Ceredig grabbed the sword he had leaned against the log he had been sitting on and unsheathed it as he rose.
Ceredig had received an ugly cut over his right eye and the blood was flowing down, covering his face.

One of those other chieftains was Ceredig, a chieftain of Strathclyde.
The common background and similarity of names in both Cunedda's and Ceredig's families indicate they could have been kinsmen or at least close allies.
In those times, it appears that sons were named after grandfathers and uncles, but not their fathers, so in this instance, it may be logical to guess Ceredig the son was named for his kinsman from Strathclyde.

After Cunedda's seizure of the territory then known as Tyno Goch from warring tribes in 451 A.D., the area was presented to the care of Cunedda's son, Ceredig - a forefather of Saint David.
The land has proudly carried Prince Ceredig's name for over 1450 years.
Ceredigion is probably one of the very few administrative areas of the Principality whose inhabitants easily identify with a deeper definition of their Welshness - through answering to the description "Cardi".

The Story of Pwyll and Rhianon, Second Branch, "The Fates of the Princes of Dyfed" by Kenneth Morris
First southward, and then northward, Ceredig turned, looking for signs of the bulrush marsh where he was to get the bedding; to the north, at about half a mile from him, and where it would not be more than a stone's throw beyond the high-tide mark, in the shelter of the promontory, he saw it.
Never had it been given to Ceredig to see such bulrushes as were growing there, either for height, or for beauty of growth and color, or for excellent length and soft brownness of heads.
It may be indeed that Ceredig Cwmteifi was not the man." He rode forward swiftly until he came to the house of Gwaeddfyd Newynog on the plain.

Review: Twin Town   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
In spite of their car-stealing hobby, glue- sniffing habits, and violent tendencies, the de facto protagonists, Julian and Jeremy, are easily the two most dreary people that we meet (the director has aptly described them as intentionally two- dimensional).
Equally outlandish, but only slightly more intriguing, are their mother (Di Botcher), their father (Huw Ceredig), and their trash-talking, prostitute sister (Rachel Scorgie).
A couple of crooked cops, Greyo and Terry (Dorien Thomas and Dougray Scott), are always on the lookout for a way to make some quick cash, even if it involves drug-dealing and frame-ups.

As can be imagined, a plot which involves men dressing up as women gives plenty of opportunities for ribaldry.
Peter O'Toole is gloriously over-the-top as a drunken Lord, Simon Dormandy is a buffoonish cavalry officer, and the characters played by Dafydd Hywel, Sue Roderick, Huw Ceredig and even Joely Richardson have some nice earthy witticisms to deliver.
The welsh countryside in which the scenes were shot gives a nice light feel to the film, although it doesn't rain as much as ought to be expected; some local stately homes and buildings (such as Atlantic College) are impressive in the indoor sequences.
