Cortez's ambition is to invade what is left of the Aztec empire in what is now called Mexico, which is not exactly what the Spanish Governor in Habana had wanted: a trade mission.
Jean Peters as Catana is fine, although her role did not allow her to demonstrate her talent at its best, as women, in those types of film, are often relegated to the role of playing the role of damsels in distress waiting to be rescued by the male star.
Cortez's expedition to conquer what is now Mexico was successful, but it was a long and bloody campaign.

Cesar Salinas, a professor at CIBNOR who has joined us for this squid-centric leg of our journey, dissects them to study their stomachs to see what they are eating, their statoliths or primitive inner ears to see how old they are, and their reproductive systems to see whether they have spawned any young yet.
Cesar and a "squid team" of colleagues at CIBNOR and other institutions are working on a project to expand the market for jumbo squid here in Mexico through a popular educational effort.

 Carlos Cortez
Carlos Cortez was born in Milwaukee in 1923.
Cortez has been called a "genius at living." A construction laborer, factory worker, janitor, journalist, salesman, curator, printmaker and poet, he is actively involved in Chicago's Mexican community, helping many in need with his skills and inspiring through his art and poetry.
Cortez first pursued printmaking after he became involved with the International Workers of the World, for whom he drew cartoons and created posters.

The bust was commissioned by Climaco's nephew, Rome-based UN official Joaquin Cortez, to commemorate the maverick mayor's assassination in Zamboanga City in November 1984.
Cortez opined that what may have connected artist and subject was their shared roots in Mindanao and their advocacy of peaceful coexistence among Christians and Muslims.
Cortez said the two men could actually be soul mates as they were both visionaries, except that they never had the chance to meet personally.

Now that Cortez is so much more active I just don't find a lot of time to update my page.
They also showed a slide show with Cortez' Picture from the day he was born up to now, while playing the Song "Masterpiece".
Cortez still keeps my up at night, but at least he "only" wakes up once in the meantime.

Actor Cesar Romero was known to one generation as the tall, handsome "Latin lover" in more than 100 films from the 1930s to the early 1960s, and to the next generation as the green-haired, white-faced Joker from the "Batman" television series of the late 1960s.
After returning from military service in the Coast Guard during World War II, Romero played Hernando Cortez in "Captain from Castile" (1947), one of his strongest performances and a role he later described as his favorite.
Romero's remains are interred in a lyre-shaped urn, along with the remains of his father, Cesar Romero Sr.
