Cessna Citation X - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Citation X is powered by two Rolls-Royce/Allison AE 3007C1 turbofan engines, each with a thrust of 6700 lbf (30 kN), pod-mounted on the sides of the rear fuselage.
The Citation X was approved by Transport Canada on May 22, 1998 and by the European Joint Aviation Authorities in 1999.
Cessna had difficulties in shedding of the popular image of the Citation as a slow airplane, even though their jets had eventually become as fast as the competition.

Cessna - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cessna Aircraft Company, located in Wichita, Kansas, is a manufacturer of general aviation aircraft, from small two-seat, single-engine airplanes to business jets.
The company traces its history to June 1911, when Clyde Cessna, a farmer in Rago, Kansas, built a wood-and-fabric plane and became the first person to build and fly an aircraft between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains.
Cessna was bought by General Dynamics Corporation in 1985, and it stopped producing piston-engine airplanes the next year due to concerns over product liability.

Cessna Citation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While the Learjets of the 1960's were intimidating to some for their speed and initial accident rates, the Citation was the first aircraft to aggressively target a segment of pilots who could upgrade from slower propeller-driven aircraft.
Cessna continiously refined the line and added new models such as the further stretched Citation V, and the Citation 650's(III's, VI, VII's) which had been re-engineered so heavily it became a new aircraft model in its own right.
Completely different models that nonetheless are marketed under the Citation name include the aforementioned Citation V and Encore, in addition to the Citation Sovereign, a new "super mid-size" corporate jet, and the Citation X (as in the Roman numeral), the fastest civilian aircraft in the world since the retirement of Concorde.

 Cessna Citation
That the Citation I and II have been widely accepted is clearly demonstrated by the more than 1000 aircraft that have been produced; the will likely continue to find a significant share of the business jet market for a number of years.
Although the Citation I and II are similar in appearance, the Citation II is somewhat larger and heavier than the Citation I and has a longer range capability.
The Citation II has an unswept wing, an aspect ratio of 8.3, and airfoil-section thickness ratios that vary from 14 percent at the root to 12 percent at the tip.

Announced at NBAA 1998: Cessna's 21st Century Jets
Cessna's Citation menu thus grows to a mind-bending eight models, ranging from the world's fastest-selling bizjet (the $3.5 million Mach.67 CJ1) to the world's fastest-moving one (the $17 million Mach.92 Citation X).
Cessna's most ambitious new product announcement at NBAA 1998 is the introduction of an entirely new design to fill the "mid-size" gap between Cessna's traditional 500-series models which top out around $7 million, and the big transoceanic jets (Challenger, Gulfstream, etc.) that cost upwards of $15 million.
The result is the all-new Cessna Sovereign, a $12 million aircraft with an extraordinarily spacious 10-passenger stand-up cabin, 2,500 NM coast-to-coast IFR range, extraordinary short-field capability, and the latest engine and avionics technology.

Cessna first developed the eight-seat Citation turbofan powered aircraft in 1968 to operate from airfields then being used by light-to-medium twin-engine aircraft.
The family of Citation aircraft has continuously expanded and the Bravo is one of nine models of aircraft in the Citation Business jet range, from the four-passenger Citation Mustang, which flies to an altitude of 12,497m (41,000ft) to the eight-passenger Citation X, which flies to an altitude of 15,545m (51,000ft).
The Bravo aircraft is of similar construction to the Cessna Citation Jet with tapered three-spar wings attached to the lower fuselage and the podded Pratt and Whitney engines mounted to the rear fuselage.

FlightSim.Com Review: Eaglesoft Cessna Citation II for FS2002 and FS2004
The Citation II is a seriously potent package, given the combination of a 400 knot cruise with a 2000 nm range (depending on payload).
We have already reviewed several of their other packages, including a Raytheon BeechJet 400A, Cessna Citation X and a Raytheon Hawker XP (the Citation product line has the most confusing set of designations outside anything Aeronca thought of, and despite sharing the name, the Citation X and the Citation II have very little in common).
The Citation II panel graphic is sized at 1024 x 768, but displays reasonably well up to 1600 x 1200 - although most users will find it necessary to make use of the pop-up panels until they know their way around.

Cessna is developing the new Citation Sovereign mid size corporate jet to meet what it sees as a large replacement market for ageing business aircraft such as the Falcon 10, Westwind and Sabreliner.
Cessna market research showed that of the 1760 or so mid sized corporate jets in service worldwide almost half are early generation aircraft which it felt would come up for replacement in the coming years.
Cessna looked at an all new fuselage cross section for the Sovereign but opted instead to stretch the Excel fuselage (by 1.5m/4.9ft) to keep down costs and reduce development time.
