CezzarAhmet Pasa (Pasha) (?-1804), also identified in some transliterations as Djezzar Pasha, was an Ottoman general who defeated Napoleon Bonaparte during his Egypt campaign in Syria at the siege of Acre.
After the capture of Egypt (which was then an Ottoman territory) in 1799 by Bonaparte, the French army attempted to invade Syria.
Bonaparte, whose fleet had been destroyed by Nelson at the Battle of the Nile, was forced to return his army to Egypt.

Cezzar Ahmed Pasha, who is famous because of his efforts and service could not be kept in Europe and laid his hands on North Africa, assaulted on Asia, competed with Napoleon in Akka defense and upset that proud commander.
An indication of Napoléon's devotion to the principles of the Enlightenment was his decision to take scholars along on his expedition: among the other discoveries that resulted, the Rosetta Stone was found.
He was defeated by CezzarAhmet in Syria near the Castle of Saida.
Napoléon's fleet in Egypt was completely destroyed by Nelson at The Battle of the Nile, so that Napoléon became land-bound.
These illustrations sparked great interest at the time, to the point that one of them, the multi-headed jinn figure, was used by the Gülriz Sururi and Engin Cezzar company for their booklet covers and posters.
