While I agree that "Chaac" is a more faithful rendition of this deity's name than "Chac", it should also be noted that these days most recent scholars and works (ie, since the mid-90s) follow the orthography as standardised by the Academia de Lenguas Mayas de Guatemala, and transcribe the name as Chaak.
Here's a link to the mayan-spanish dictionary from the Autonomous University of Yucatan: letter CH, notice CHAK means red (rojo) (as you poined, the ortography used nowadays) and CHAAK means rain (lluvia).
However, although nowadays ot's been standarized as Chaak, I think the Chaac name should still be used as main title since it's the most recognized and used as of now (and thus it's more likely that a visitor would type that when looking for the article).
