SCREEN IT! PARENTAL REVIEW: ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY
Champ is mean to Veronica and he and Brian try to distract her when she makes her debut as the anchor.
Champ leans across Veronica acting as if he's reaching for some pencils, but she knows what he's doing and states that he's trying to touch her breasts.
Champ appears to have gay feelings toward Ron as he states that he misses his scent and musk, and that the two should get an apartment together.

'70s seen as time of upheaval, breakthroughs in TV news - The Washington Times: Entertainment - July 09, 2004
Champ Kind's catchphrase, "Whammy," is really no less meaningful than "Let's go to the videotape," the signature of Warner Wolf, Channel 9's sports king in the '70s.
A disgusted Champ Kind, the station's dim sports announcer, slams his hand on the managing editor's desk and bellows, "It is anchorman, not anchorlady, and that is a scientific fact."
Early during "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," the new film that spoofs local television news in the 1970s, the all-male crew at a San Diego station is horrified when their boss introduces the newest member of the on-air team and it turns to be — gulp — a woman.

The modern legend of the lake creature known as Champ dates back to 1609 when French explorer Samuel de Champlain described a fish with "dangerous teeth" that the native peoples said grew to 10 feet in length.
Some people have photographed what they claim to be Champ, and in 2003 a team of scientists recorded a series of high-frequency sounds similar to those made by sea mammals coming from the lake's depths.
Affolter and Bodette do not claim that they saw Champ.

anchorman: the legend of ron burgundy
Some of Anchorman is the kind of giddy, nonsensical stuff that can only emerge from a genuinely deranged comic brain.
His life is disrupted, for better and worse, when the ambitious Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) arrives at Ron's news station with an eye on the co-anchor position.
Still, it's an affable enough comedy (though not quite the side-splitter some Internet critics are hyping it as), with a well-judged soundtrack of '70s chestnuts -- the news team's impromptu rendition of "Afternoon Delight" is the best use of that inanely libidinous ditty I've seen since The Rules of Attraction.

The Aisle Seat - Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
Burgundy spends time both on air and off with his news team: Texan sports reporter Champ Kind (David Koechner); suave field reporter Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd); and dimwitted weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carrell).
Instead, the plot is merely an excuse for the actors to make fun of 1970’s local newscasts and to engage in all kinds of outrageous sexual and scatological humor.
Burgundy’s status has sent him on something of an ego trip; he’s obsessed with his own looks, particularly the hair.

Premiere Magazine: Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
On his Channel 4 news team are field reporter Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), sportscaster Champ Kind (David Koechner), and weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carell, who nearly steals Ferrell’s fire as an even bigger buffoon), all of whom look up to Burgundy as their leader.
This one’s a no-brainer, pun intended: Anchorman is the kind of wonderful, cotton-candy escapism that should leave you with the right kind of stomachache.
The in-your-face irony here is that he’s actually an incompetent journalist, skating by on his commanding voice, and so oblivious that he'll read anything printed on the Teleprompter.

Ron and his Channel 4 News Team—with features reporter Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd, The Great Gatsby, 2000), a cologne-loving would-be lothario; rowdy yahoo sportscaster Champ Kind (David Koechner, The Dukes of Hazzard), and mentally deficient weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carell, The 40-Year-Old Virgin)—are the number one local journalists in San Diego.
Unfortunately, the budding romance has a built-in rough spot: Veronica is determined to be taken seriously as a journalist, hoping to become the first female news anchor in history, but Ron, a clueless male chauvinist, sees her ambition only as a threat.
When the intelligent, beautiful, and ambitious Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate, Employee of the Month) joins the newsroom, Ron is immediately smitten with her, and is isn't long before she reciprocates (against her better judgment).

Frankie Billy Randall (born September 25, 1961) is a three-time world champion boxer who is best known as the man who handed Mexican legend Julio César Chávez his first professional defeat.
Randall knew the Mexican legend was a slow starter who often lost the first few rounds of a fight, only to come back and dominate.
Once his career started in earnest, Randall stayed busy, fighting and winning 23 times between 1983 and June 1985, when he fought former and future champ Edwin Rosario and lost a unanimous decision over 10 rounds.
