Chapter IV - Methodology, Change Detection Technique
The 1999 Band 7 had a mean value of 25.7 while the 1984 Band 7 had a mean value of 18.4, a difference in value of 6.3.
Values in the 1999 Band 7 image were therefore shifted downward by a value of 7 before subtraction and a constant value of 100 was added to the difference file values to compensate for software limitations prohibiting negative values.
The determination of change threshold values was determined by the visual comparison of the difference file with both the 1984 and 1999 TM scenes and subjective manipulation of change values to represent both positive and negative changes in vegetative cover based upon the mean and standard deviation of the difference file.

 Change - www.jacquespetrus.com
This great band are one of the best, but also one of the most underrated ones in the soul, disco and R&B genres during the first half of the 80s.
Change had so far not been a band in the real meaning of the word, they were more a studio concept with several different "Change" touring in 80 and 81.
Except "Change of heart", the whole album included fantastic songs like sing-a-long "You are my melody", the more edgy and sexy "I got my eyes on you", "Lovely lady" and the hypnotic and "It burns me up" all with a spark of the old Change in a modern way.

Change is something fans of D.C.'s The Dismemberment Plan have grown accustomed to over the years, as the band has proven to make vast leaps in maturity with each album.
On Change, however, they've become the primary focus of the songs, with the band trading in raging vigor for polite, polyrhythmic grooves.
But even while these tracks are decent enough, they lack both the kinetic energy of the band's earlier material, and the engaging lyrical insight that dominates the rest of the record.

With the Canadian punk scene officially dead and the new wave scene firmly progressing into techno-pop, another Toronto act, Platinum Blonde (who WERE a Police tribute act originally) took their original musical original inspiration directly from the Deserters songbook to the point of actually nicking a few obvious riffs.
