  NationMaster - Encyclopedia: Channel Nine
Channel Nine is an Australian television channel broadcast by the Nine Network, available in major markets across Australia.
Nine settled its dispute with Llewellyn out of court and when excerpts of his affidavit were published on the Crikey website on Monday, it successfully sought an injunction in the NSW Supreme Court, which forced Crikey to take down the item for its 13,000 subscribers and many thousands more free readers.
Channel Seven, for so long the ratings challenger that it was derided as "Channel Second", has assumed the No. 1 position this year and looks likely to end the year in front, even if by a narrow margin.

But Rowe, who according to a former Nine executive, Mark Llewellyn, was to be "boned", or sacked, by Mr McGuire, wasn't around to hear the announcements.

The footage was subsequently incorporated into a program broadcast by Channel Nine.
The court held that the making of the film was a joint venture between Channel Seven and DARE, and that, as Channel Seven had played a part in making the arrangements necessary for making of the film, Channel Seven was a co-owner of copyright in the footage.
The terms of the joint venture included an obligation by Channel Seven to hand over tapes of the program broadcast on Channel Seven (which would otherwise have been destroyed), but did not restrict the uses DARE could make of the footage.
