Channing Pollock was born on August 16 1926 at Sacramento, California.
Pollock's early work as a magician was on the nightclub circuit, where his talents were enhanced by his good looks and air of sophistication (although he would later admit that his stage image owed more to fear than breeding).
Pollock was highly regarded in the magicians' fraternity, not least for the care that he showed towards his birds and his high standards of showmanship.

Channing Pollock (August 16, 1926 in Sacramento, California, USA – March 18, 2006) was an American magician and film actor.
Has one of the most sophisticated and charismatic practitioners of his craft; strikingly handsome with an enigmatic stage presence, he was best known for an act in which he would elegantly produce doves out of thin air and he was often billed as "the most beautiful man in the world".
Pollock's early work as a magician was on the nightclub circuit, where his talents were enhanced by his good looks.

Some of what Franju finds here is worthy of Cocteau, and as he found when he attempted another pastiche of Feuillade's work in colour, fl and white is essential to the poetic ambience.
