For the first time in years we will not visit the Chaos Communication Congress - the place (Berlin) is at the far other end of Germany and the time (27.12.-29.12.) is incompatible with having a family.
Seems the decision was OK - other usual suspects stay at home too and when the schedule finally came out at the 5 days ago we (my wife and I) where not very thrilled by most of the presentations offered.
Maybe one reason is, that the CCC asked presentations to be held in english.

There has been some rumours about the congress being extended to four days which seem to be correct as the webpage announces a four day event starting at the 27th.
Going to the congress to meet and talk to people/friends having four days is perfect but on the downside the talks might become somewhat of a negligible murmur in the background if people start exploring Berlin.
