Chaos is supposed to be ever changing, not following rules, that sort of thing, so something changing back at the end of the duration appears to be strange as a chaos effect.
A chaos transformation does not have a duration, unless it is to draw out the time it takes to change from one state to another, by drawing it out, you decrease the DC of the change.
A dispel magic can unravel the change, by using the force of will of lawful magic to right the devistation of the chaos magic.

Chaos Magic is the belief that material causality is not real, that the inherent (supposed) chaotic nature of the universe breaks this idea down.
Chaos Magic is also called a “meta-belief.” That is, a belief defining belief.
Really not what Chaos Magic is. Chaos Magic can use pseudo-science, or false logic if chaotes find it useful, but the whole idea of Chaos Magic is you can do whatever you want as long as its useful.

If you know nothing about chaos magic and are curious, I suggest you start by reading either Condensed Chaos by Phil Hine (published by New Falcon) or Liber Null and Psychonaut by Peter J. Carroll (published by Weiser).
If you are new to magic or coming from a magical background in Paganism or shamanism, I recommend starting with Phil Hine, who has a somewhat more approachable writing style.
