 Annie Chapman
Annie Chapman is widely believed to be the second victim of the notorious unidentified serial killer "Jack the Ripper", who killed and mutilated prostitutes in the Whitechapel area of London during the late summer and autumn of 1888.
Chapman's body was discovered about 6:00 on the morning of Saturday, September 8, 1888, lying on the ground near a doorway in the back yard of 29 Hanbury Street, Whitechapel.
Annie Chapman eventually moved to Whitechapel, where in 1886 she was living with a man who made wire sieves; she was often known as Annie "Sievey" or "Siffey".

Jonathan Chapman, born in Massachusetts on September 26, 1775, came to be known as "Johnny Appleseed." Chapman earned his nickname because he planted small orchards and individual apple trees across 100,000 square miles of Midwestern wilderness and prairie.
The first record of Chapman's presence in the Midwest dates back to 1801 when he was known to be on the Ohio River transporting 16 bushels of apple seeds from western Pennsylvania in order to plant nurseries.
Chapman, sometimes referred to as an American St. Francis of Assisi, was an ambulant man. As a member of the first New-Church (Swedenborgian), his work resembled that of a missionary.

Nathaniel Chapman was an 1801 graduate of the Medical School of the University of Pennsylvania, furthering his medical studies in Edinburgh before settling in Philadelphia in 1804.
From 1810 on he taught at the University of Pennsylvania, serving as professor of materia medica and professor of the theory and practice of medicine and clinical medicine.
Chapman was also a Fellow of the College of Physicians, elected in 1807.

The road that passes through West Middletown was paved in 1824, but was taken in hand by the citizens, and the burgess and Council, as such, seem not to have been recognized in the action.

Chapman said the new plan for Smarty Jones calls for one race before the Breeders' Cup Classic on Oct. 30 at Lone Star Park in Texas.
The current record is 28,692, set at the 1983 Pennsylvania Derby.
