Char B1 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
The "B1" refers to the fact that there were other simultaneous projects to develop improved types: the Char B2, B3 and B B. The Char B1 was manufactured by several firms:Renault (182), AMX (47), FCM (72), FAMH (70) and Schneider (32).
The Char B1 bis was an upgraded variant with thicker armour at 60 mm maximum (55 mm at the sides) and an APX4 turret with a longer-barrelled (L/32) 47 mm SA 35 gun, to give the tank a real anti-tank capacity.
The Char B1 served with the armoured divisions of the Infantry, the Divisions Cuirassées de Réserve.

Char B1 bis   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
The largest tank in general service at the beginning of WWII (Char 2Cs don't really count), this French vehicle was considered a very advanced design.
Not an overly small vehicle this wasn't much of a problem because it had the armor to rival a Matilda, and on paper the armament was formidable.
The other reason the Char B1s failed was that they were committed piecemeal and were relatively easily destroyed by the massed German forces.

 c_string
static int strcmp(const char* b1, const char* b2)
The string retains its origial value, and the rvalue is concatenated to the end of the string that is the lvalue in the statement.
This version of strcmp() is safer than the C library strcmp(), and can handle situations where either b1, or b2 are null, or of zero length, in a manner which is necessary for the operation of the c_string object.

Char B1-B1 bis. Tank (1929-1942)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
In April 1935 40 Char B1's as they were now know were ordered until an even more heavily armoured version could be produced, these tanks now weighted 28 tons.
For its time the Char B1 bis was an advanced and complex vehicle and these tough maintenance requirements were to become a hindrance in time of war.
Many Char B1 bis fell into German hands after 1940 and although the Germans regarded it as unsuitable for front line duties due to its one man turret it was used for internal security, driver training and a flamethrower and SP gun varients were also developed.

In 1921 General J.E. Estienne (pioneer of French tank arm) of the Section Technique des Chars de Combat initiated requirements for a 15 ton tank with a 75 mm or 47 mm in the hull.
The ARL (Artelier de Construction de Rueil) supervised the design and the first Char B was finished in 1929.
The prototype that was completed in 1929 had a crew of four, armor 25 mm thick, and four MGs (3: hull, 1: turret).

Char B1 bis   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)

 Cosmic Software - FAQ
Note that a new cell (whose size matches the bitfield base type) is created when a bitfield is larger than the available space in the current cell, or when the new bitfield has not the same base type than the previous one.
Now, if you are declaring a union between an array of 2 bytes and a bitfield structure, you may get different results depending on the base type for the bitfields and the +rev option.
The compiler is filling two char cells, so the +rev option reverts the bit filling order inside each cell, but not the cells themselves which are still allocated contiguously.

Featuring strong firepower and defense, the B1 bis could more that hold its own against the tanks of the Wehrmacht during individual combat.
Between the outbreak of WWII in 1937 and the fall of France in 1940, the B1 bis tank was produced by a number of different makers, and featured a variety of camouflage patterns.

CodeGuru Forums - Problem with cc compiler
When you assign b2 to b1, the pointer gets copied, and the b1 object's internal pointer is wiped out, so you never get a chance to delete it.
When you copy construct b3 with b1, b1 and b3 have the same pointer value.
So if you create a function that "or's" two char arrays, it is the very same syntax for vector.

The instructions show to fit the upper and lower hulls together before proceeding and the fit is again very good all around with no trimming of filler required but remember to fit the front idlers onto their axles before hand as you can’t fit these after assembling the hull.
The Char B1 bis has an almost endless array of camouflage schemes and the aftermarket decal companies will have a field day on this kit to offer the modeller more choice.

The 'boundary' string is taken from the data-stream directly after the HTTP headers in the incoming request.
This would overflow the 'b1' array with 300 "A"s and overwrite the saved EIP with 0x41414141.
Note that the data that overwrites 'b1' is not taken from the 'Content-Type' header, but from the line preceding the 'Content-Disposition' field.

April 20 2006, 4:21 PM The Char B1 used the APX-1 (40mm armor), the Somua S-35 used the APX-1CE (upgraded to 50mm of armor, new 47mm gun) and the Char B1 bis used the APX-4 (60mm armor).
In May 1940 there was a scheme to mount APX-1CE turrets on the Char B1 bis due to shortages of APX-4 turrets, but it would appear that this did not occur.
It is somewhat similar to the Renault B1 or early D2 turret and could be fitted with either a 47mm SA34 or SA35 gun.

RE: casting a char pointer to integer pointer - Oct.
You'd have to add a component to the structure that would hold a value to indicate the type of object the pointer addresses and handle the incrementation on a type-by-type basis.
Now it is up to me to cast to the type I want when it is time to use the pointer.

 Trakz Char B1 bis
This simple update set from Trakz in designed for the Tamiya Char B1 bis (kit #35282) with the set having just 5 pieces cast in light cream resin with the usual casting blocks and some fine resin film to be removed but no other blemishes are present.
There is nice cast texture on the hood surface and the side vision port is moulded closed and also includes the six flush screw heads on the top but unfortunately these are two small, too deep, unevenly aligned and in the complete wrong position being too far forward on the hood.
Unfortunately there is very little to recommend with this set as the observation hoods have the wrong flush screws and lower lip detail but the aerial base has improved detail and the bolt heads are on the 75mm gun mantlet.
