  AllRPG.com - Arc the Lad - Review
Arc the lad is the story of a young boy named Arc who has been predestined to, of course, save the world.
Arc the Lad has a unique style of gameplay in the fact that is a Strategy style RPG battle system, combined with a more RPG story element and normal gameplay.
Arc the lad uses a common graphic style of superdeformed sprites (similiar to Lunar) that are highly detailed in a small space.

 Writing.org - Character Arc
In a good story, characters grow between "It was a dark and stormy night..." and "The End." This growth process is often referred to as the "character arc," because it can be graphed as a curve in the same way as a plot.
We also see Justin evolve from a happy-go-lucky bachelor to a person who undergoes personal trials, is confronted by a choice between accepting and evading responsibility, and ultimately makes a decision that shows him to be a better (or worse) person than he was on page 1.
This evolution is the "character arc"--and it's what makes the difference between a mere series of events and a compelling human story.

Character Pro 5 helps with this by providing a unique character spine based on your choices and established character types, once you know your character's inner workings, it's easy to bring out these qualities when they're in a tough spot.
(In Character Pro, the arc is related to the level of healthiness in a character: Heroes get more healthy, while villains get more unhealthy.) When the first signs of trouble arrive in the story, we may see a glimpse of which direction the character is going in his or her arc.
Character Pro can be very helpful in discovering the arc and bringing out its qualities.

A character’s path of growth through his or her FLBW is a rocky one; quite often the character resists growing.
Trying to build in a character arc for your player opens up a can of worms, because in a symbolic subplot, the changes in the symbol reflect the changes that your character undergoes as he or she progresses through the rocky path of his or her character arc.
But, when the character arc is complete and the stream becomes clear, the master’s face can be seen in the river, from which he dispenses advice that is crucial to accomplishing the game’s final tasks.

Arc is content instead to be a fantasy adventure story with that requisite melodramatic sincerity and high-minded morality that RPG fans will appreciate.
Arc’s turn-based combat system is the game’s highlight – smoothly integrating the RPG staples of turn-based hit-point flogging with full movement across the battle area.
Character voices occur most prominently in combat, where practically every action is preceded by an announcement or quip from the character, some of whom need to clear their throats.

Character Arc #2: Going from fear of vulnerability in love to being able to be vulnerable in love.
To be exact, though, we have a character arc (her going from feeling exposed and powerless to strong), and we see her defensive toughness melt in the area where it was causing the most problems -- with the man who loves her and whom she needs.

In such a story, the character must be said to change, because it is the belief system itself that is being judged by the audience, once the moment of truth is past and the results of picking that system are seen in the dénouement.

 Season Seven Review
The themes and plots didn’t quite fit the characters’ emotional states or arcs in S7, I often felt as some posters have stated that the characters were being forced to serve the story as opposed to the story serving or naturally arising from the characters.
The central arc was confusing, muddled and somewhat cheesy to most viewers, but there were several stand-alones that had zip to do with it or vaguely referenced it that were kick-ass.
Unlike previous seasons which had maybe one or two peripheral characters that were introduced to highlight the relationships of the regular principal characters but did not overtake the storyline: See season 3 as the best example of this, S7’s peripherals seemed to be the story or the focus of it.

In mythological terms, a character arc is a symbolic death (a literal death in American Beauty) in which a character dies to his old self and is resurrected into his new self.
In psychological terms a character arc is when a character achieves Integration (Freud) or Individuation (Jung), i.e., when the character makes a choice using his entire self—not just a wounded or limited portion—and becomes whole.

 The Craft of Screenwriting
Characters in a good story have a set of outside obstacles to deal with and also a set of internal obstacles to deal with.
The advantages to a main character-driven piece, however, is the opportunity to take a character, learn who they are, develop it, and then put them in a situation in which they have to conquer these obstacles or go on this quest.
If we understand them simply as: the first act is the introduction of the characters and the conflict, the second act has the development of those conflicts and the extension of them, and the third act has the resolution, that's a helpful thing to do.

The Arc is the internal change that the hero or heroine goes through from the beginning of the story to the end.
Other main characters, the villain, the heroine in the case of a romance, may also have their own inner changes to go through and lessons to learn.
But everything the main characters do and say, and how they react to situations stems from the character arc as they moved toward their inevitable changes.

We've all heard the loose definitions, "It's how the character changes during your story." Or, "It's what happens to your character to change him." Your character should travel an arc, which redefines his or her understanding of life.
Usually when we talk about "character arc," we're referring to the movement a character makes from unhealthy behavior in the way they live life, to realizing they're making a mistake, to changing views and behavior.
The bottom line with character arc is that some established characteristic in a person changes.
