  Introducing Character Sets and Encodings
Characters in a character set are stored as one or more bytes in a computer.
A character encoding is the key that maps a particular byte or sequence of bytes to particular characters that the font renders as text.
They provide a way of representing characters that are not available in the character encoding you are using, or a way of avoiding the use of the character for other reasons (such as when they may conflict with syntax).

Chinese character - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Characters made up of multiple parts squash these parts together in order to maintain a uniform size and shape — this is the case especially with characters written in the Sòngtǐ style.
Because character simplifications were not officially sanctioned and generally a result of caoshu writing or idiosyncratic reductions, traditional, standard characters were mandatory in printed, and especially official, works, while the (unofficial) simplified characters would be used in everyday writing, or quick scribblings.
And the character 雲 yún (cloud) was written with the structure 云 in the oracle bone script of the Shāng dynasty, and had remained in use later as a phonetic loan in the meaning of to say.

Character structure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Among the earliest factors that determine an individual's eventual character structure are his or her genetic characteristics, the conditions under which gestation occurred, and early childhood nurture and education.
The individual character can similarly be described in structural regard as a typical combination of character traits and character orientations like the social character.
Fromm notes that character structures develop in each individual to enable him or her to interact successfully within a given society may be very counter-productive when used in a different society.

 Robust Vertical Text Layout
Scripts in their native orientation need no additional stylistic hints for proper layout: their inline progression and glyph orientation are both intrinsically mandated, so the style system can know by itself how to lay them out.
For scripts in a non-native orientation, the natural inline text flow depends on the direction of line stacking: the text is most comfortably laid out as if the whole text block were merely rotated from the horizontal.
Character shaping is the process of selecting, based on context, which of several allographs of a letter should be used.

The character body encloses all of the drawn parts (kerning excepted) of all characters in the font (that is, no descender extends lower than the bottom and no accent or oversized symbol extends higher than the top).
The character expansion factor specifies the deviation of the width to height of the characters from the ratio indicated by the font designer.
The character height is specified as a fraction of the scaled character heigth.

Character Sets: MARC-8 Environment (Library of Congress)
Graphic character sets may be represented by either 8 bits per character, or, where a larger number of characters needs to be accommodated by the character set, by more than 8 bits codes per character (usually in multiples of 8).
I is the Intermediate character sequence, which may be one or more characters in length and indicates whether the set is designated as the G0 set or the G1 set and whether the set has one byte or multiple bytes per character.
Escape sequences to designate alternate graphic character sets may occur wherever the alternate characters are needed, e.g., within a word, at the beginning of a subfield, or in the middle of a subfield.

Because a character's pose is described by all of his/her joint angles and the position and orientation of his/her root node, a simple way to compare two poses is to calculate the sum of the distances between each joint angle and the position and orientation of the root node.
Also, in.amc file the orientation of a root node is given in fixed angles in XYZ order (or you can think about it as euler angles in ZYX order).
If you are using euler angles for rotation representation, you may want to exclude root orientation from your evaluation function completely as the same orientation is often represented by very different rotations around XYZ axes (this is especially noticeable for root node orientation since it varies greatly).

The main objective of the study is to identify areas of similarities and differences in orientation of narratives between ES and CS groups in their English L1 and L2 as well as Chinese L1.
Another remarkable difference in orientation of the narratives between the two groups is the introduction of the characters and their references.
ES preference for naming the characters may reflect a cultural difference in narrative conventions, particularly in what is customary in storytelling to children (Berman 1999).

The Text Orientation attributes allow the appearance of text character strings to be changed by defining the character height, up-angle, path, and horizontal and vertical alignment.
The character up-angle, which defines the text orientation with respect to the vertical, is measured positive clockwise from the vertical in units of degrees.
The character path is specified as `r' if the characters are to be read from left to right, `l' if they are to be read from right to left, `u' if they are to be read in an upward direction, or `d' if they are to be read in a downward direction.

A complete character and style analysis for an individual political leader requires a closer examination of his life history, with special attention to periods in which self-esteem is linked with experiments in adaptation.
There is an orientation towards productiveness as a value and an ability to move flexibly among various orientations toward action as rational adaptation to opportunities and demands.
That is explained by a character-rooted orientation toward doing dutiful service; the compensation is for low self-esteem based on a sense of uselessness.

Erich Fromm: freedom and alienation, and loving and being, in education
To describe this orientation toward, or love of, death Erich Fromm used the notion of necrophilia.
He was concerned to go beyond the popular usage of the term (to refer to sexual contact with the dead; and/or the desire to be near to corpses), and to look to necrophilia as a character-rooted passion - the passion to transform that which alive into something unalive (Fromm 1973: 332).
Love is not primarily a relationship to a specific person; it is an attitude, an orientation of character which determines the relatedness of a person to the world as a whole, not towards one 'object' of love.

I anticipated it being somewhat of an action-packed mecha battle anime, with Cybuster at the forefront of the story, however it turned out to be more of a character driven story with the mecha component being more of a secondary thing, at least in these first five episodes of the series.
The characters overall proved to be an interesting mix, with each being motivated by a different set of circumstances and personalities.
Cybuster is a slower mecha show with more of a character orientation early on in the series, which in many ways makes the most sense as this is the first set of episodes that will set the pace for the rest of the series.
