  Hardcore Gaming 101: Guilty Gear
Guilty Gear XX Slash is the next revision to the primary 1-on-1 gameplay after XX# Reload.
The characters are obviously much smaller, but the animation is decent, and the gameplay is actually pretty similar to its bigger brother, even if you have to deal with the shoulder buttons.

Venom (Guilty Gear) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Of note, Venom is the only character officially stated as being homosexual (care of the latest Guilty Gear drama CD "Knight of Knives" released at the end of 2004), although this was heavily implied throughout his story sequences in the games and in the Guilty Gear novel "The Butterfly and Its Gale".
Venom excels as a long range character; however, since his projectile attacks don't deal large amounts of damage, his optimal fighting style is as a "pressure" fighter.
However, against certain characters, it is safest (and even easier) to control the fight by staying at a distance and covering the field with pool balls, punishing mistakes as appropriate.

Dizzy is a gear that appears as a super-cute woman with a tail and wings wearing a midriff baring bikini type outfit.
Dizzy was raised by an elderly couple, but since she was a gear they were forced to hide her in a secret grove hidden deep inside a forest.
Well, most of the characters now have a new little addition to one or two of their moves, and one characters get a complete makeover (too bad it's a character I don't like much).

With all their fireballs, super moves and general OTT nature, 2D Fighters are usually pretty silly, but the Guilty Gear series, with its freaky cast of characters goes one step further and into the realm of bloody insanity.

Guilty Gear: Accent Core is a treat for the more avid of fighting game fans, but - even with the Wii controls - is just that, so if you’re a newbie to the genre and are looking for a game you’ll learn with relative ease, this skill reliant scrapper is hardly the game for you.

Guilty Gear Dust Strikers features all 21 Guilty Gear characters from previous versions (including SolBadbuy, Potemkin, May, Dizzy and others) in a battle that takes place on multiple levels across both DS screens.
It's too bad that Guilty Gear: Dust Strikers had to sacrifice some of its progenitors strongest features to enact new and engaging gameplay changes because the new enhancements for Dust Strikers really do add something new to the franchise, however; judging the entire game as a whole leaves it wanting.
The gameplay is sloppy and basic, the characters suffer from less of an animation budget on the smaller system, and the overall feel just isn’t worthy of the Guilty Gear name.

There's a canned back attack move mapped to the shoulder buttons by default (complete with new animations), and many characters have special moves that will offensively flip them in the direction of their opponent, letting you be that much more aggressive towards anyone who tries to use the manual cross-up to their advantage.
Characters retain the same moves from the previous games, albeit with some minor tweaks here and there, and the advanced maneuvers like the False Roman Cancel and the Fortress Defense shield are all in there.
