For this map, the three dimensional convex hull of the shape model was projected into the Morphographic Conformal Projection (the conventional Stereographic Projection modified for non-spherical worlds).
Longitudes are measured from the crater Charax, just north of the equator at the more pointed end of Gaspra.
As with all conformal (true shape) projections, the scale in these maps varies, increasing from the centre to the outer edge.

Isidore of Charax mentions Hit as the waystation of Ispolis; Ptolemy's Geography calls it the town of Idikara (presumably from id and kara, respectively the Babylonian and Aramaic-Arabic words for bitumen).
Mount Zindan itself is a volcano, with a crater at the peak and a long volcanic ridge extending two or three miles from the peak.
Kangavar was mentioned by the Greek geographer Isidor of Charax in the first century AD, under the name of Konkobar; its name may be derived from the Avestan *Kanha-vara, 'enclosure of Kanha'.

 All about Babylonia
It is tempting to connect this hypothesis with the fact that Alexander the Great had the Babylonian astronomical diaries translated, but it is probably better to resist this temptation.
To honor the great Babylonian astronomer, a crater on the far side of the moon has been called Kidinnu (35.9N 122.9E).
It is a small crater, however, with a diameter of only 56 kilometer.

That may be about to change: 17 factors, including the patterns of tectonic faults and fallen trees in the area, suggest that the explosion had nothing to do with outer space, but was caused by gas forced upwards from the planet’s molten core...

It's a piece of fiction intended to show of the Terminators are great almight beings-don't take it too seriously in terms of 'canon' fluff.
