Charisma has been credited with helping some politicians, especially those with vague platforms and populist ambitions, to achieve electoral success.
Charisma Carpenter (born July 23, 1970) is an American actress of Mexican and Cherokee descent.
Because Charisma had many bands who were relative unknowns when they were signed, many original pressings of early albums from Charisma bands like Genesis and Van der Graaf Generator with pink scroll labels have become quite rare and sought after by collectors.

 The Famous Charisma Label
But the portly well-dressed middle-aged entrepreneur of England's Charisma Records is not only regularly seen in their company, but has done his damnedest over the past 10 years to further the cause of their art by putting it on record and selling it with remarkably good taste.
Charisma's first few years were amazingly successful ones, especially for a label as fiercely independent as it was.
Charisma was selling albums in copious quantities and those albums were by groups that English and American radio chieftains saw only as album acts.

Audience are back - the official website of the classic 70s art rock band
Their debut album, for Polydor Records, made its reputation (according to the Guinness Encyclopaedia of Popular Music) as ‘one of the most sought-after artefacts of the art-rock genre’.
The approach from Charisma came after the band supported Led Zeppelin at London’s Lyceum ballroom in October 1969, and thereby hangs a tale.

Hackett, Steve: Defector (Charisma Records, 1980.01.01)
I bought the record in 1981 and I still listen to it at least once a month (which is saying a lot, since I have a fairly expansive prog rock collection).
This is perhaps my second favorite track on the record and is an astonishingly solid composition (there are no weak parts - all of the notes hold together like a string of pearls).
The only criticism I have of this record is that the last two tracks - "The Show" and "Sentinmental Institution" - scream "filler." The former is a bland pop tune, the bass line of which is somewhat reminiscenet of late 70s disco (don't get me wrong - it is tolerable).

Until the release of 1983's Plays Live, his solo albums for Charisma Records were all called Peter Gabriel.
However, Atlantic Records refused to distribute his third album in the USA, claiming its maudlin nature would mean "commercial suicide".
Mercury Records stepped in and with Steve Lillywhite's disciplined production the striking collection was far from the flop Atlantic feared, narrowly failing to break into the Top 20 (the album topped the UK chart).

Nursery Cryme was much more adventurous than their previous album, and with the new lineup, effectively defined what would become the band's distinctive style.
Musically, the record is somewhat uneven, but the songs that do work, work well enough to make up for the rest of the album.
Sonically speaking, Classic Records' new pressing is the definitive version of the album.

The name King Crimson was coined by Peter Sinfield as a synonym for Beelzebub, prince of demons; according to Fripp, Beelzebub would be an anglicised form of the Arabic phrase Bil Sabab, meaning the man with an aim, although it is widely accepted that the word is from Hebrew Baal-zbub meaning lord of the flies.

Hammill, Peter: Nadir's Big Chance (Charisma Records, 1975.01.01)
Among the treats are the title cut, "Birthday Special," the dolorous "Pompeii," and a remake of the early Van der Graaf Generator single "People You Were Going To." Hammill would never let himself be this wild and hairy again.
The status of the record was such that even the erstwhile Johnny Rotten was holding it up as an inspiration.
Hammill, meanwhile, delivers throat-ripping vocals that trash the lyrics; to roughen the edges even more, these sound as though they were recorded with Hammill halfway down a well.
