Beebe was born March 31, 1879, in the City of Salina, Kansas, and is a son of David and Mary Baldi (Moore) Beebe.
Charles P. Beebe attended the public schools of Salina, Kansas, but is practically self-educated, for at the age of eleven years he left school and began to serve his apprenticeship to the printing business in the office of the Salina Sun, of which W. Johnson was editor and proprietor.

The lectures mark the 74 anniversary of the series established at Oberlin in honor of Charles Beebe Martin, professor of classics and classical archaeology at the College from 1880 to1925.
Titled "The Lives of Augustine", this year's series will address fundamental issues in the contemporary reception of the work of Augustine of Hippo, and will set those issues in the larger context of modern scholarship and interpretation.
A member of numerous editorial boards for Classical and Post-Classical scholarly publications, O'Donnell is also well-known as the editor of many volumes of the monograph series, Later Latin Texts and Concepts, published by the University of Michigan Press.

Thomas Clinton Beebe was, according to one source, born about 1867 in Kansas.
According to the Washington State Archives he was the son of Charles and Olive (Richardson) Beebe.
The period between that date and 9 October 1891 is unknown, It is known that on that date Thomas was single and a logger and lived close to the place where he was killed.

Lucius Morris Beebe (1902-1966), an Edwardian at heart, was born on December 9, 1902, to a prosperous family in Wakefield, Massachusetts.
Beebe re-launched the newspaper in 1952, and by 1954, the Enterprise had the highest circulation in the West for a weekly newspaper.
From 1960 until his death, Beebe wrote a weekly column for the San Francisco Chronicle, "This Wild West." A highly civilized non-conformist, Beebe thought of himself as a Renaissance Man and a true snob and was recognized as a legend in his own lifetime.
