Charles Boyer (August 28, 1899 – August 26, 1978) was a French actor.
Charles Boyer is best known for his role in the 1944 film Gaslight in which he tried to convince Ingrid Bergman's character that she was going insane.
In 1948 Charles Boyer was made a chevalier of the French Legion of Honor.

Charles Boyer was born on August 28, 1899 in Figeac, France.
In 1942, Boyer won a special Oscar for his "progessive cultural achievement in estalblishing the French Research Foundation in Los Angeles as a source of reference for the Hollywood motion picture industry." His later appearances included Barefoot in the Park (1967) and Stavisky (1974).
Boyer is buried at Holy Cross Cemetary in Culver City, California next to the grave of his wife and son.
