  Andrew Charles Elliott - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Elliott was a member of the colony's appointed Legislative Council from 1865 to 1866 and after the colony became a province of Canada he was elected, in 1875, to the Victoria City seat in the provincial legislature and became leader of the opposition.
In 1876 Elliott became Premier of the province on the defeat of George Anthony Walkem's government in a Motion of No Confidence but his government was unstable, was unable to make progress with the federal government on the province's demands that Ottawa build a railway to the Pacific.
Andrew Charles Elliott is interred in the Ross Bay Cemetery in Victoria, British Columbia.

George N. Elliott, who came to Kansas in 1878, and began the practice of law at Topeka, was born at Millersburg, Ohio, grew up and received his education in that state, and later moved to Winterset, Iowa where he married Mary E. David.
Charles S. Elliott was born at Winterset, Iowa, January 12, 1862, while his father was fighting the battles of his country, and he grew up in Missouri and in Topeka.

CHARLES ELLIOTT MITCHELL, for many years a member of the Hartford County Bar, and a leading patent attorney of the United States, died suddenly at his home in New Britain, Connecticut, on March 17th, 1911.
Mitchell was in his seventy-fourth year, having been born in the town of Bristol on May 11th, 1837.
At the time of his death he was a deacon in the First Church of Christ, and also the leader of a Bible class, which consisted of sixty men, and for many years he was a director of the Y. A., and during the later years of his life was president of the association.

Charles Loring Elliott tried and rejected a career in architecture before coming to New York City to study painting with John Trumbull and John Quidor in 1834.
He returned to New York around 1845, began to exhibit his work at the National Academy of Design, and within five years was considered the finest portrait painter of his time.
Elliott painted more than seven hundred portraits during his career, including many of the period's most successful businessmen, such as glass manufacturer Erastus Corning, Hartford gun magnate Samuel Colt, millionaires William Thompson Walters of Baltimore and William Wilson Corcoran of Washington, as well as writers, artists, and politicians.
