  Charles Martinet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Charles Martinet (born September 17, 1955) is an Amerindian voice actor, best known for providing the voice of Mario, the star of Nintendo's flagship franchise.
This system was called "Mario in Real-Time," or "MIRT." Martinet could see the attendees by means of a camera setup, and a facial motion capture rig recorded his mouth movements in order to synchronise Martinet's mouth movement with the on-screen Mario mouth movement.
Martinet's video game voiceover debut was as Mario in the 1995 Windows release of Mario Teaches Typing, which featured an adapted form of MIRT.

Martinet came to prominence after performing in approximately seventy plays in nine years, it was then that he turned his talents to voice acting, trade shows presentations and auditions “For every film and television part that came to town”.
Martinet’s vocal talents are what make his skills so in demand; he is able to mould his vocal cords around each character, bringing it to life in an entirely unique fashion.
Charles’ involvement in game development differs from project to project, due to the amount of work that goes on in the title’s design he is usually called in during the latter stages of its development.

Martinet now records dozens of hours of video game dialogue per year, and just got back from a world tour as the voice of game character Mario the Plumber, which included a short address to 60,000 fans at Australia's national football final.
His video game character counterparts may be surrounded by vibrant colors or explosions, but most of Martinet's work takes place in a small white room with a door, a window with a view of sound equipment and a single microphone.
Martinet said he still gets offers to voice the dying, but most of his gigs these days involve a lot more dialogue than a bloodcurdling scream.

As you wade through the pre-game setup screens, both versions have an announcer; The difference is that the Japanese version has a very American-sounding announcer with a voice that echoes, while Mario lends his voice to the English version.
It sounds to me like Charles Martinet—the voice of Mario—does the announcing for the Japanese version.
Charles Martinet was the only person that did voice acting for both versions.

The Nintendo DS is capable of stereo sound with its two speakers, and even has a surround setting making those classic Mario tunes sound a lot better than you'd expect for a measly portable.
Charles Martinet and the other voice actors typically involved with Mario games have recorded some new samples, mostly to compensate for the changes that took place during the upgrade, and they all sound just as sweet as the music.
A lot of you probably don't even need to be told this, but Super Mario 64 DS is THE must-own launch title.

They've replaced her with someone who is over-the-top sweet, an adjective that Leslie Swan referred regarding her Peach portrayal to as "a stretch".
However voices are never the draw for Mario games, even though Charles Martinet does a great job doing both the Mario bros. and Wario bros. Think of how much work he has to do for those sports and variety games which have all four of them in it doing voices!
I've got nothing on Charles Martinet (the voice of Mario), though.
