Ng makes me ill, and it made me realize how f***ed up the Canadian system is. He was caught in Calgary (same city I live in!), and the gov't originally wouldn't send him to the States because he would be facing the death penalty.
Now more broadly, there is recent precedent in Canada to suggest that the resistance to extradition in potential death penalty cases is even stronger than it used to be and that even a guy like Ng would not be sent back to the country from which he escaped.
My comment about Ng getting attention was not in response to my thinking he was getting attention.
