		It turns out that the Queen ceased to be the Head of State in South Africa in 1961, when the post was taken over by the Staatspresident.
		During Verwoerd's term as Prime Minister, the South African Head of State was the Queen until 1961, and Charles Robberts Swart thereafter (until 1967, the after Verwoerd retired).
		Hmm, if I were a grade 8 student (that's Canadian for 8th grader) back in 1959 in a social studies "bee" and I answered one of the following to the question: "Who is the head of state of South Africa"
