  SPACE.com -- Charles Simonyi: Next Space Tourist Has Spacesuit, Will Travel
Simonyi is returning to Star City after a successful round of winter survival training, in which he and other cosmonauts tested their wits and learned the Russian equivalent of “Mayday, Mayday” (Terpim bedstvye, or “We are suffering a disaster,” he writes).
Simonyi also spent two hours tied fast to the customized seat liner while clad in his spacesuit, and is gearing up to test the spacesuit in a vacuum chamber to measure its integrity.
Simonyi is also looking ahead to after his coming spaceflight, when he hopes to continue to share his experiences -- not to mention his Sokol spacesuit -- to help bolster interest and support in private human spaceflight.

Former Microsoft software developer Charles Simonyi is set to become a space tourist for a visit to the International Space Station (ISS), the orbital tourism firm Space Adventures said Monday.
Simonyi, a 58-year-old American and co-founder of Intentional Software Corp., will ride a Russian-built Soyuz spacecraft to the ISS for a one-week science mission aboard orbital laboratory, Space Adventures said, adding that a contract for the spaceflight is in hand.
Simonyi has completed a preliminary training regime and undergone medical examinations to qualify for a Soyuz ride to the ISS, Space Adventures said.
