During the late 1960s, Charles White discovered a series of pre-Civil War posters advertising slave auctions and rewards for runaway slaves.
White's careful juxtaposing of dates, symbols, and images in this work may indicate his frustration regarding the cycle of oppression and degradation African Americans have historically endured from the first arrival of seventeen African slaves in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619 to a date that has yet to be revealed.
The X in White's "wanted" poster composition appears to refer to the Nation of Islam's use of the letter as a symbolic replacement for the white slave name that fl Americans chose or were forced to choose in lieu of their original African names.

It is contained in a letter written several weeks after the affair by Charles White, minister of the Presbyterian Church at Berryville, Virginia, to his brother- in-law John Felt, of Salem, Massachusetts.
White also served the Presbyterian congregation in Harpers Ferry, where on the Sunday evening of October 16 he had preached his regular biweekly sermon and then spent the night.
Charles White spent the night at the mill as guest of A. Herr, the owner.

White has the NY State indoor freshman mile record which he set at the Hispanic Games in January and I believe he has the outdoor record as well.
There is also the problem of that white might not be mentally tough enough when his freshman counter parts start to get faster and catch up to him (which will eventually happen) runners that white could probley run circles around now might not be as easily beat in the future.
White is a tremendous runner for ANY age, but the fact of the matter is that he is older than a typical frosh.
