Charles Woodson (1781-1838) was born and reared in Prince Edward County.
Woodson served in the Virginia House of Delegates in 1811-1812 and was a member of the Prince Edward County Republican Committee of Correspondence in 1816 and the Jackson Committee of Correspondence and Vigilance in 1827, and sheriff of Prince Edward County in 1837.
Charles Woodsons´ parents were Tarleton Woodson, who was born in 1754 in Henrico County, and Anne Van Der Veer of Long Island, New York.

Charles Woodson (born on October 7, 1976 in Fremont, Ohio) is a cornerback for the NFL's Oakland Raiders franchise and was named to the American Football Conference's Pro Bowl team from 1999 2001.
After that season, Woodson declared his eligibility for the NFL Draft, and was selected 4th overall in the 1998 by the Oakland Raiders.
After Woodson's first season in the NFL he was named The NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press.

Evidence of an Indian campsite was found in Woodson Terrace in April 1953 by an amateur archeologist living in the area.The campsite is believed to have been associated with a village that was discovered a mile north, when the airport was being expanded in 1951.
Woodson Road started out as an Indian footpath, and then became a cowpath for local farms in the area in the early 1800's.
Around the turn of the century, St. Charles Rock Road, formerly called St. Charles Plank Road, was used as the primary route between St. Louis and St. Charles.
