Here's the story of the movie: The plan was flawless...
The only threat mastermind thief Charlie Croker (Wahlberg) never saw coming was a member of his own crew.

 Italian Job, The (1969)
Description: A group of professional thieves, led by career criminal Charlie Croker, plan on stealing $20 million in gold, by creating the largest traffic jam in Los Angeles' history.
As the robbers snatch the gold, secured in a safe that they're stealing back from Croker's double-crossing ex-partner--who first stole it from Croker--their plan involves rigging all the city's stoplights.
While everyone else, including the police, will be caught in traffic, they can get away in their souped-up BMW Mini Coopers, which are small enough to drive on sidewalks, and in the subway system--perfect to make a clean get away before the traffic jam clears.
