  Charlie Grimm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Louis, Missouri, Grimm was known for being outgoing and chatty, even singing old-fashioned songs while accompanying himself on the banjo.
Grimm had done play-by-play in the past, so he gave it one more go in 1960, before stepping back to the ranks of coaching and then front office duties.
Grimm died in Scottsdale, Arizona at age 85, from cancer.

Grimm spent the next five season in Steel City before he was traded with Rabbit Maranville and Wilbur Cooper to the Cubs for George Grantham, Vic Aldridge and Albert Niehaus.
Grimm was the Cubs regular first baseman from 1925 through 1933, and was a valuable bat and influence on the bench until he retired after the 1936 season.
Grimm remained on the Cubs payroll in some capacity for the next twenty years and was very popular on the banquet circuit.
