I didn't recognize former Astro Charlie Kerfeld at the Astros game Monday night, but after realizing it was him, I had a chance to talk with him for a while.
Kerfeld, a live wire who donned a Conehead hat in the bullpen among other places during the Astros' famous 1986 run to the NLCS, also once came running out of the dugout to give Ryan a hug.
One other interesting thing you may not have known about Kerfeld: His heart was as big as his living and his stature (6-6, 275-pounds at one point).

During the 1986 regular season, Astros reliever Charlie Kerfeld had an 11-2 record with a 2.69 ERA and seven saves in 61 appearances.
In the 1986 NLCS against the Mets, Kerfeld made three relief appearances, giving up only two hits, one walk, and one earned run in four innings.
Kerfeld, now 38, manages the Chico Heat of the Western League.
