CHARLIE ROSE: Regarding Nicholas Burns talking to a U.S.-European group in Brussels on May 26th, he said: "The greatest change we will see in the next three or four years is a new American focus on South Asia, particularly in establishing a closer strategic partnership with India.
CHARLIE ROSE: It is also said that this deal marks a recognition by the United States that A, India will be a global power, and B, that it has to shift the focus of its foreign policy to Asia, not Europe.
CHARLIE ROSE: The conventional wisdom for the first four years of the Bush administration was, and I heard this in India as well, a sense that we`re not listening to the rest of the world, we`re going our way, you are with us or you are against us.

As with the novel and 1947 film adaptation, the new Nicholas Nickleby begins with the passing away of Nicholas Nickleby Sr., who states in his will that his daughter, Kate (Romola Garai), his son, Nicholas Jr., and his wife be cared for by his brother, Ralph (Christopher Plummer).
While it's not expounded upon where Nicholas and his family base their goodness, the fact that they are godly and live by righteous standards should be an encouragement to believers.
Also, there are interesting moments when Nicholas is hurting or in need of help and he calls on his "father." Actor Charlie Hunnam who played Nicholas, said in an interview that the way he chose to play these addresses to "father" were aimed toward Nicholas Nickleby Sr., who had just passed away.

Nicholas Cage (who I haven't liked in a long time) was superb as Charlie, insecure, genius screenwriter who is terrified at interacting with people.
As chronic worrier Charlie bemoans his lack of inspiration in making a screenplay out of Orchid Thief, his down-on-his-luck but always-cheerful brother Donald begs to be allowed to stay in his apartment until he gets on his feet.
The main thread of Charlie coping with his block is the underlying theme, though, and Cage anchors the film with it.

Charlie’s other career-defining goal is better known at home, coming as it did in the 76th minute of his Scotland debut against Switzerland in a Euro qualifier in 1983.
Nicholas did, indeed, go south, and joined a club who perversely wasted his rich treasure trove of abilities by playing him too deep for his own liking and blunting his natural predatory edge.
