Chasewater is a 3 km² reservoir between Brownhills, Norton Canes and Burntwood, in Staffordshire, England.
Legislation to close the canal was enacted in 1954.
Brownhills Urban District Council purchased Norton Pool in 1956 for £5,600 which was for a total area of 272 acres (1 km²) and 2 cottages, from the British Transport Commission and renamed it Chasewater, after nearby Cannock Chase.

Along with Brownhills West, Chasewater Heaths is the only other station on the line and boasts good facilities.
Above we see the station from the car park and my only complaint about this, and the aforementioned Brownhills West for that matter, is their lack of period appearance stemming largely from their recent construction and budget constraints.
The lines have been lifted for realignment, easing-out of a tight curve to enable larger locos to negotiate the line and, where the disused bay could be seen above (to the left in this shot), carriage sidings are being installed.

I have heard of salford park but heard it was a bit dodgy to fish.
There are carp in the angelsey branch canal that chasewater feeds,up to about mid 20`s.
Going back to chasewater there were rumours of catfish,but i`ve never heard of any being caught.

Shortly after the canal opened in 1797 the Company had no option but to close it again due to the fact the Canal System was getting too low and the Ogley Hay Locks had become dry.
