Some people make it an issue that in the morning one should also read 'Benti Chaupai' and 'Anand Sahib' and that the Sikh Rehat Maryada is saying one should only recite Jap Ji Sahib, Jaap Sahib and Sawayyas.
But, no where is it written in the Sikh Rehat Maryada that one should only recite three Banis in the morning.
No one is being chastised for reading Anand Sahib or Benti Chaupai, rather it is good but it is not compulsory, according to the Sikh Rehat Maryada.
