I did the ride in '93, I think, on my old DF, had hamstring cramps on Cheaha Mountain from all the standing climbing, then had to ride back into the 20+ headwind...
Last summer I did the major climbs up to Cheaha park at the top of the mountain.
Burkhalter is only about 2 miles long but the last 1/4 to 1/2 mile is wicked steep and with 2 major climbs and 80 miles on your legs is difficult to say the least.
