		I like the cheddites because of the price,but i shot a thousand of them in my cheap Baikal IZH-27 and the firing pin started flaking, and it started piercing the primers, i figured it was just my cheap gun.
		Needless to say, i haven't used anymore cheddite's in any of my guns, and the problem(s) have gone away.
		Cheddite primers have a softer cup and do peirce and erode firing pins.

		I've just finished using 15,000 Cheddite primers and had only one fail to fire and have not had a single primer head pierced.
		I have used over 5000 Cheddite primers in AA and STS hulls in 12/20/28 and 410, and I have used Remington and Winchester primers also(with appropriate loads), and I have never had a problem with primer pockets being too large or too small.
		My shooting partner, who started using Cheddite primers long before I did, has mentioned that early on, he had these problems, but he has used over 15,000 since then without a problem.

		Actually the cheddite is a lower pressure hull than the active.We tested the cheddite and active and the cheddite was lower pressure.
		I have spoken to RSI people and they do say to use a cheddite hull in place of the activ hull for their recipes..
		The Cheddite hull will yield lower pressure with identical load and a slight decline in performance will be realized.

	Cheddite Primers
		as far as size is considered, the cheddite is just slightly larger that the ww209, but the brisance is not consistently comparable to any other primer.
		I've loaded some 70,000 cheddites over the years and often go back and forth between winchester and cheddite without one hoot of problems with primer remaining seated or fit.
		However, the Cheddite DOES have a more squared roll at the powder end and will occasionally not seat as smoothly as the others simply because of the "step-like" top rather than a smooth taper.

		At $208.00 for 25# of rex 2 and $109 for 5000 cheddite's as Chas.
		I have used Rex 2 and cheddite primers in Remington nitro hulls for about 4 years.
