"Cheers" (1982)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
The regulars of the Boston bar Cheers share their experiences and lives with each other while drinking or working at the bar where everybody knows your name.
The difference between Cheers and about 90% of the other sitcoms that have come and gone, is that in Cheers, nothing seems forced.
As far as I can remember almost every episode of Cheers ended with someone smiling or laughing, and it's that sense of warmth that is so rare in television, that it makes Cheers stand tall amongst any competitor, then OR now.

Cheers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cheers was presented with the "Legend Award" at the 2006 TV Land Awards, with many surviving cast members attending the event.
Cheers had some running gags, such as Norm arriving in the bar greeted by a loud "Norm!" Early episodes generally followed Sam's antics with his various women, following a variety of romantic comedy clich├ęs to get out of whatever relationship troubles he was in that particular episode.
Cheers did eventually end up back in Sam's hands in the eighth season finale, when it was sold back to him for eighty-seven cents by the Lillian Corporation after he alerted the company of Colcord's embezzlement.

Cheers (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cheers is Obie Trice's debut album, released on September 23, 2003 after Obie was signed to Shady Records in 2000.
The title track "Cheers" celebrates Obie's successful debut into the rap game after being in the Detroit underground for many years.
Topics Obie has touched on this album include his life on the streets of Detroit, problems with his mother, relationships with women and the soulful reminder that, despite having made it into the mainstream, he has not forgotten his friends.

 Cheers
The show was set at Cheers, the Boston bar "where everybody knows your name." Bar owner Sam Malone (Ted Danson), a former Red Sox pitcher and an irascible womanizer, served up beers and traded one-liners with regular customers Cliff (John Ratzenberger) and Norm (George Wendt).
Cheers was not politically correct: the main character was a womanizer; Rebecca pretended to be a career woman but really just wanted a rich husband; and the collegial atmosphere centered around drinking.
As an inheritor of the MTM character-comedy tradition, Cheers pushed the "serialization" of sitcoms to new levels and was one of the most successful shows from the 1980s.

Cheers   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
Cheers jumped the shark when Rebecca was added, first all the chemistry and humor between Sam and Diane were lost, second Rebecca wasn't supporting the cast in episodes like Diane did and third cheers lost it's edge and freshness.
If the episode with her walking out the door of Cheers, Sam saying "Have a good life", and then the fantasy of the two of them as an elderly couple dancing in the house they were going to buy had been the series finale, it would have been a perfect TV series.
Cheers never really jumped the shark, but it came close the last 10 shows. The chemistry of the characters made the show. They could have gotten rid of Carla after Diane left. One of the most underrated characters was Lilith. This show was one of the greatest shows ever.
