Lake Chelan is a narrow, 56-mile-long lake in Chelan County, northern Washington state, USA.
It is fed by streams from the Cascade Range and is the third deepest freshwater lake in the country, at 1,541 feet.
The city of Chelan sits at the southeast tip of the lake, where its water flows into the Chelan River through the hydroelectric Lake Chelan Dam.

ROYAL CITY, Wash. – About 7,150 marijuana plants have been seized in Grant County, and at least two of the raided fields appear to be linked to a crime ring in neighboring Chelan County, authorities said.
Chelan County, authorities reported the confiscation of 9,000 marijuana plants north of Entiat on Wednesday, 4,400 plants about 10 miles south of Wenatchee on Aug. 8 and 9,700 plants valued at about $14.5 million Aug. 3 about eight miles south of Malaga.
The seizures in Chelan have made that county the biggest statewide in the number of pot plants confiscated this year, Sheriff Michael T. Harum said Thursday.

On December 20, 1994, the Board received a Motion and Memorandum for Reconsideration from Chelan County requesting a 58 day continuance to February 4, 1995 and asking that the compliance  hearing be stricken.
FINDING:            The County is not in compliance with either the  requirements of RCW 36.70A.170 to designate agricultural resource lands or critical areas or RCW          36.70A.060 to assure the conservation of these resource lands and the protection of        critical areas.
At  the time the County was to have completed the work involved in this compliance hearing, it apparently had little difficulty completing Resolution 94-145, Chelan County Government Coordinating Ordinance for Acts  Affecting Land and Natural Resource Use.

DRYDEN, Chelan County — The Chelan County Sheriff's Office ordered a new round of evacuations last night after a wildfire near this Central Washington town jumped some fire lines and burned across a road.
About 120 homes in the Eagle Creek area north of Leavenworth were evacuated on emergency notice yesterday afternoon because of concerns of shifting winds and an approaching lightning storm, said Patrick Lonergan of the Sheriff's Office.
Near Lake Chelan in north-central Washington, 550 firefighters continued to monitor a complex of three fires.
