City made a clean sweep of all their six matches played to win the tournament for the 2nd year in a row.

A City cross in saw keeper Rhian Vincent cut it out well and when the visitors gained a free kick, it was well curled over the wall but the home keeper was up well to claw it down and to gather up as players closed in.
City then pulled a goal back when a shot on the turn looped up off Antonia Vassallo as she looked to have got in a great block but it spiralled up and over the keeper`s head and into the net (81 mins).
Once more the City keeper had to be on her toes as she had to dive and push away a shot.

Chelmsford Borough Council and Chelmsford City Football Club have signed an agreement that will allow City to play their home games at Melbourne Park Athletics Centre.
A legal agreement signed by the Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Duncan Lumley and Directors of Chelmsford City FC includes provision of land for a football club clubhouse providing new social facilities and changing rooms, as well as the all-important agreement to hire the pitch from the Council to play their first team home games.
Paul Hopkins, Joint Chairman for Chelmsford City FC said: "We are delighted that things are now in place to construct the clubhouse and for home games to begin in January 2006.

The original amateur Chelmsford club originated in the County town in 1878 and moved to their New Writtle Street ground in 1922, however, when that club folded after sixty years the present club was formed as a professional side in 1938.
City reclaimed a place in the Premier Division as a consequence of the re-organisations which followed the formation of the Alliance (now the Conference) League and in 1986 they were almost elevated to join that elite group but finished as Runners-Up behind Welling United.
In May 1998 City thought that they had achieved their immediate ambition of a return to the Premier Division when they finished second to Weymouth, however, a seating technicality meant that promotion was refused.

Chelmsford City just played there 1st game in Chelmsford in 8 years, 3000 people were there to watch it.
Rax we got onto Chelmsford as the link from Taz's original message mentions about them playing their first game at home for 8 years and I wondered why they were called Chelmsford City when in fact they are a town.
To qualify as a city I always believed that you had to have a cathedral AND a university (apart from Wells I believe, which is the smallest city in the UK apart from the City of London (although no doubt someone will prove me wrong!)).

With ten minutes of the half left, Maldon attacked Chelmsford down with a good ball to Terry Warwick who took his chance in shaking off two defenders to slot home to make it 1-1 at half time.

This was a highlight of an otherwise dreary tie as Moors failed to fire on all cylinders against a Chelmsford side that had came looking for a draw.
After Moors goal Chelmsford had to change their strategy and pushed forward looking for an equaliser, but it was to little avail.
He found himself free 20 yards out and as Rachel dashed out to block he rolled the ball under the keepers body only to see Collins back in the 6-yard area to turn the ball for a corner.
