Chem 65D (Introduction to Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, 0.5 units): This is a five-week course that focuses on the theory and applications of AA spectroscopy.
Chem 212 is designed primarily for chemistry majors, and is required of students who intend to major in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or closely related majors (such as chemical biology), and is recommended for molecular and cell biology majors at UCB with a strong research interest.

CHEM 11/12 have been retired, so CHEM 21/22 is now the "standard" general chemistry sequence.
Confusingly, even though the titles of CHEM 21 and 22 have been changed to "General Chemistry", there are still a few references to "advanced general chemistry" out in cyberspace.
The level of preparation needed for CHEM 21 this coming fall (2002) is the same as that needed for CHEM 11 in past years (a year of High School chemistry).

The MDNR traced this contamination to Chem Central, and identified a plume of VOC contamination in the groundwater between the Chem Central property and the ditch.
The Chem Central property is fenced, and the concentrations of contaminants detected in surface soil north of the property are not of health concern.
Chem Central excavated and regraded the ditch and installed the purge well and underdrain system before the end of 1984 (Figure 4, taken from Reference 1, Figure 9).
