Chen had won only 39 per cent of the vote in a new and untried democratic system with the legislature still dominated by the opposition.

Chen Jingrun - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chen Jingrun (Traditional Chinese: 陳景潤; Simplified Chinese: 陈景润; pinyin: Chén Jǐngrùn, May 22, 1933 - March 19, 1996) was a mathematician from Fuzhou, Fujian, China.
Chen graduated from the Mathematics Department of Xiamen University in 1953.
