Chenjesu - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chenjesu were the leading race of the Alliance.
The Chenjesu are a fictional race of aliens from the sci-fi computer game Star Control.
The Chenjesu were a race of intelligent silicon-based crystals that de facto led the Alliance of Free Stars, although they repeatedly rejected that position, in Star Control I. Their ship was the Broodhome, a very large, slow ship comparable in speed, crew capacity and destructive power in general to the Ur-Quan Dreadnought.

 Chenjesu - Ultronomicon
The Chenjesu are a race of silicon-based, crystalline beings native to the Sapphire World of Procyon II.
The Chenjesu, while silicon-based, are not at all like the Taalo — Chenjesu are crystalline rather than rocklike.
The Chenjesu probably decided to do this because they felt their culture had become so advanced that it had stagnated entirely, and that the modification of their species into a transChenjesu synthesis would reinvigorate their society.

The Chenjesu DOGI, Chmmr Zapsat and Orz marine do not use energy; The Slylandro Probe and Umgah Drone recharge at varying rates depending on how they are manipulated by the player (see section 25: Slylandro Probe, and section 31: Umgah Drone).
The Chenjesu DOGI discharger field, Melnorme EM "confusion" pulse, and VUX limpet parasite are not included in this list, as their effects are not comparable to the damage caused by the other weapon systems.
(Chenjesu DOGIs, Orz marines, and Ur-Quan fighters themselves are not considered projectiles here, and are classified separately.) o In this document, the term "damage" generally refers to crew loss on ships, and damage to other units such as DOGIs, Zapsats and marines.

 First War - Ultronomicon
Chenjesu historians refer to it by the name they prophetically bestowed upon it before it began, The Great Crucible of Sentience; to date it remains the greatest military conflict known to the histories of Alliance races.
The Chenjesu quickly gained the support of the military powerhouses of the Yehat and Shofixti, and initiated first contact in 2112 with the still-primitive Humans and that still-primitive race's dormant military and industrial potential.
Though Procyon was heavily defended by the Chenjesu, the Ur-Quan finally chose to use the decisive ace in the hole they had reserved until then, the Sa-Matra.

The Chenjesu expected Earth to play a major role in the Alliance, both as combatants and suppliers of war material.

Physiology: The crystalline Chenjesu were based on a silicon based biochemistry, a boggling concept to earth scientists sure that all life must be found in the range in which water is liquid.
It may well be because of this rich resource that the Chenjesu were chemosynthetic, using the vast mineral deposits of their world and a radiant light source as an endless supply of medium for growth.
Chenjesu history ends when they and the Mmrnhrmm were slave-shielded together on Procyon 2, for as soon as the task force left the sector, the Process began.

The Chmmr (pronounced schmer) are a fictional race of beings featured in the sci-fi Star Control computer game series.
The Chmmr are a fusion species between the crystalline Chenjesu and the mechanical Mmrnmhrm.
The species was formed at the end of the Process, the term the Chmmr use to describe what was happening to them inside of the Procyon II slave shield in Star Control II, and which would have normally taken several decades to complete, but the player finishes by use of the Sun Device.

After the departure of the SDF-1[i] and the so-called Exodus Group with the alien Chenjesu in 2014[ii], the United Earth Government fell apart.
Prominent member countries: China, Japan, the USSR, and the East Asia Economic Co-prosperity felt snubbed by their slim defeat in the UEG voting process that caused the defection of 70,000 of the world’s most brilliant minds and best soldiers.
Everyone knew it was just a play of words, no one expected the Chenjesu to dramatically arrive in 2014.

However, some ranges very closely match others, and as such there may be times when a lower-rated weapon can match or outreach a higher-rated one, depending on the ships' relative hull and weapon orientations at the time of engagement.
Ur-Quan fighters and Chenjesu DOGIs themselves are not considered projectiles, and are classified separately.
Where a single use of a weapon projects more than one beam or missile, it is assumed that all projectiles strike the target; (an exception to this is the Chenjesu crystal bomb fragment, as it is unlikely in the extreme that all 8 fragments from one crystal bomb will strike a single target).

Perhaps the Process made them unable to differenciate between the Chenjesu and the Mmrnmhrm and so the Chmmr must have no personality to sustain themselves.

The secondary ability of the Skiff is a teleportation device, which will instantaneously move the ship into a random place in the battlefield.
The teleport can be used both to escape from an enemy and to attempt a surprise attack against enemies that might be hard to approach by other means, like a Chenjesu Broodhome.
However, it should be noted that every teleportation carries a negligible chance of you rematerializing inside a planet or an asteroid, resulting in an instant destruction of the vessel (a feature that was not present in the first Star Control).
