  Bullfighting Festival in Cheongdo
Cheongdo Bullfighting has developed over the years from a dangerously amusing and recreational event to an exciting competition.
The Cheongdo region is famous for this increasingly popular traditional event, now having crossed international borders with the Korea-Japan Goodwill Bullfighting Match and incorporated some elements of rodeo-style games for more international appeal.
Absent from Cheongdo Bullfighting is the graphic violence of the sport depicted elsewhere, without compromising the realism or thrill of watching the raging bulls.

CHEONGDO, South Korea, April 30 (Yonhap) -- One morning recently, Do Hui-hyeon, 18, got much excited at the thought of traveling to Uiryeong, a rural town about an hour's drive from here, to see his bull compete in a bullfighting tournament.
The Cheongdo County Office imported this match bull from Japan in an effort to evolve the bullfighting festival into an international draw.
A modern bullring in Cheongdo will replace a traditional outdoor one, where audiences will pay entrance fees and place bets on bulls, fattening the pockets of the county office, as well as bull owners.
