Khafre (Chephren), the builder of the second pyramid on the famous Giza Plateau near Cairo is a fine example.
He is also sometimes refereed to as Khafra, Rakhaef, Khephren or Chephren by the Greeks, and Suphis II by Manetho.
He was possibly a younger son of Khufu (Cheops) by his consort, Henutsen, so he was required to wait out the reign of Djedefre, his older brother, prior to ascending to the throne of Egypt as the fourth ruler of the fourth Dynasty.

Following the first propagation experiment between the two Chephren chambers, but prior to the discovery of the fact that losses in bedrock were very high, a second set of experiments was set up to study one-way and two-way propagation between Belzoni's chamber and the north face of the pyramid (Figure 7).
To the west of Chephren's pyramids is a vertical cliff five to thirty feet high in which numerous tombs for nobles were cut when the pyramid was built.
Observations of Chephren's pyramid in the passageway within the bedrock leading to Belzoni's chamber show that there is a section of approximately 40 ft where the walls, floor, and ceiling of the foundational structure have been replaced with limestone blocks.

I suggested to Alvarez that to unambiguously state that there are no other chambers in Chephren's pyramid, one would have to repeat the measurement using horizontal muons—those that make an angle greater than 45° to zenith—and that the detector should be on the ground outside the pyramid.
The intensity of the horizontal muons is much lower than that of the vertical ones, but the horizontal muons have the advantage of being "hardened" by their longer passage through the atmosphere.
To exclude the existence of chambers in the Chephren pyramid, an experiment with horizontal muons is called for.
