	Cheri Oteri - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Cheri Oteri (born Cheryl O'Teari on September 19, 1965 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania) is an American actress and comedian best known for her work on NBC's Saturday Night Live.
		It was there that she was noticed by SNL and was hired in 1995 as part of a nearly all-new cast brought in to save the show after its disastrous 1994 season.
		Oteri would eventually form a third of the so-called "SNL female power trio" that also included Molly Shannon and Ana Gasteyer and which was responsible, along with Will Ferrell, Darrell Hammond and others, for bringing SNL out of its slump.

		Her chameleonic abilities enable Oteri to craft some of the most memorable characters the show has ever seen; most of which are at play in the new Saturday Night Live: The Best of Cheri Oteri DVD.
		Oteri (like so many of the other SNL cast members of this era) is at her best when she is working along side Will Ferrell; one of her most popular bits is as one half of a cheerleading duo with Ferrell.
		The great Cheri Oteri hasn't done much since leaving Saturday Night Live, but her legacy on the show is one that will live on for years.

		Cheri Oteri (that name just fits her doesn't it?) has returned with a batch of skits featuring characters she was best known for.
		I think Oteri is funny, and downright hilarious in some sketches (though I always found Molly Shannon funnier), but by and large, her sketches never got me going.
		My favorite Cheri Oteri skit of all time, in fact, is on this disc: Adele, the officer worker with no concept of the subtleties of sexual innuendo.

		Oteri is gearing up for pilot season again after spending part of her summer in China filming the indie feature "Smile," a drama starring Beau Bridges about U.S. physicians who travel to Third World countries to perform routine surgical procedures on children.
		The actress, a former member of the Groundlings comedy troupe, is best known for her 1995-2000 stint on NBC's "Saturday Night Live." A "Best of Cheri Oteri" compilation of her memorable "SNL" skits aired on NBC this past weekend and is due out this year on DVD.
		The Oteri project is believed to be the first foray into half-hour comedy for Abrams, who also has a new drama launching on ABC later this month, "Lost," and the fourth year of his stylish spy-fi actioner "Alias" on deck for a midseason debut.
