		Cherokee County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
		In the county, the population was spread out with 26.30% under the age of 18, 14.60% from 18 to 24, 25.70% from 25 to 44, 21.50% from 45 to 64, and 12.00% who were 65 years of age or older.
		The median income for a household in the county was $26,536, and the median income for a family was $32,369.

	Tahlequah, Oklahoma - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The name, according to legend, derives from the Cherokee word "Ta'ligwu" meaning "just two," or "two is enough." The "two" refers to a meeting between elders that presumably took place shortly after the Trail of Tears.
		According to James Mooney in his book "Myths of the Cherokees", Tahlequah, Tellico, and Telliquo are variant spellings of the Cherokee word "Talikwa", the meaning of which, he writes, is lost.
		The county was also the setting for the Wilson Rawls book, Where the Red Fern Grows and was also the filming location for the movies by the same name.
