 | | The next morning, while elements of Devin's 9th New York engaged Confederate pickets on the left flank, troopers of the 6th trotted forward to support the 2nd United States Sharpshooters deploying in Pitzer's Woods, east of the Emmitsburg Road. |
 | | After the Appomattox surrender, the remaining veterans and recruits of the 6th were consolidated with the 15th New York Cavalry and renamed the 2nd New York Provisional Cavalry on June 17. |
