CherryOS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CherryOS was a PowerPC G4 processor emulator based on PearPC for x86 Microsoft Windows platforms, announced on October 12, 2004.
CherryOS was re-released on 10 March 2005, with an easy-to-use graphical installation program — a feature that PearPC lacks.
CherryOS was also alleged to have copied code from OpenVPN (using it as their network driver) and HFVExplorer (which was used as the "Drag 'n' Drop" interface).

CherryOS also created questions regarding the legality of commercial software developed and marketed specifically for the purpose of running Mac OS on the x86 architecture, since Apple's license agreement specifically states that the operating system may only be installed on Apple-'labeled' computers.
Eventually, CherryOS died due to the very high amount of criticism that had been directed at it.

CherryOS surfaced as a PowerPC emulator for x86-compatible systems, specifically geared, and sold, to allow Windows users to use Apple's Mac OS X. This is actually kinda cool.
Six months before CherryOS was announced (not released) and started talking to the Mac press, another project, this one open source had created a PowerPC emulator for the x86 architecture: PearPC.
Also CherryOS could claim that like PearPC they are simply an emulator of the PowerPC architecture, and that it is not them that are running MacOSX on the emulator but their end users.
