Admissions to Chertsey Nursery School will be decided according to the official guidelines laid down by Surrey County Council and endorsed by the DES in Circular 22/89 (Assessments and Statements of Special Educational Needs) which states that 'Local Education Authorities should give priority to children with Special Educational Needs in admitting children to Nursery provision'.
Chertsey Nursery School is grossly over - subscribed and therefore needs to have clear criteria for the admission of some children in preference to others.  There is obviously a need for flexibility and the following can only serve as a guide.
Chertsey Nursery School, working within the guidelines will accept 4 - 6 children per session from Category 2, divided as appropriate between two classes.
